Online education provides the students to choose from a wide variety of courses, that in turn has caused improved learning among the students. One of the main reasons for choosing online education is because of its advantageous opportunities in selecting courses. Online education provides a wide variety of course offerings found online that are sometimes not found in a traditional universities. This broadening gives the students the chance to choose from what courses they like and prefer. According to Espejo, “online classes also offer opportunities for students to enroll in advanced courses or specialized electives not taught at their schools due to the lack of qualified teachers or resources or scheduling conflicts” (2006, para.1). This is evident, as the variety of courses give the opportunity for the students to focus and concentrate on a particular field (course) that they are attracted to. In addition, sometimes traditional schools either do not provide the course that the student is willing to study, or even when it is available, the teachers are not up to the standards of teaching, that results in student changing their majors, where the student could actually be good at that course, but because of the teacher’s standard of teaching, it causes the student to divert to a different course. Moreover, online education provides interactive animated videos that show students how the process of something is being done, that in turn helps the students to grasp concepts in a better way and also to like the subject and focus on it more. Moreover, online education is more up-to-date in terms of information, in the sense that any new technology that is invented would be accounted for and added it to the list of courses related to it automatically. This is much better compared to traditional education, as books release editions every two to three years, so by that time students may be studying something old and may not be able to be aware of the new technology. Variation of courses and the numerous online courses available, do help the students to find what is suitable and fits them, in terms of the commitment of the course, what they like and what they dislike. Also, sometimes when applying for a job, there are very specific requirements needed that may be crucial, like specific soft skill, specific minor courses, that would make the job acceptance for students more at ease. Also, courses that are not found in a particular country gives the opportunity for the student to study that abroad online course thoroughly, that in turn can make the student transfer this knowledge gained to his own country, which results in better advancement to the country. That means online education can create scientists as well.

There will always be people having opposing views regarding online learning and every one will have their opinion, whether online education is a friend or foe. Furthermore, online education has been prominent in our present-day world. There has been evidence that shows an increase in enrollments for online education and how there are many universities embracing online learning for students and the positive effects of online education on the students, compared to traditional education. Lastly, online education provides a wide variety of courses and has better convenience compared to old-style teaching methods. Some students and people do not advocate online learning due to its negative effects like making students inactive, causing demotivation, and lack of face-to-face interaction. Ultimately, the student’s effort and determination are the major factors that affect the student’s academic success. In my opinion, online education has saved a lot of time for the student and has made the student more interactive and sociable with other peers, as you communicate with other students from different regions. furthermore, students have to set a number of goals in their mind, like what is supposed to be accomplished and manage their time more carefully and try utilizing it as best as possible. They could organize their work by creating a to-do-list where they can motivate themselves. Also, after finishing a set of tasks, they can take a break and return back to continue their work. The problem is people do not trust the new forms of education and prefer traditional education. Therefore, people need to be open minded and acclimate with new forms of educational methods and not lock themselves in the past. In the end, it’s the students’ preference on the type of education they choose and their willingness to succeed, that matters.
