losing out on a chance to make money. So, why don’t the students work part time so they can still attempt to get money while attending college? There are so many jobs out in the world that don’t require a degree, so wouldn’t it just be better to go find one of those jobs and get paid instead of having to pay to learn? I don’t believe so. These same people that don’t believe college is worth it, don’t want to take the risk of becoming bankrupt from failing to pay a loan. They don’t want to take on the extra stress and health problems that comes with the school work. I know all about these consequences. I recently moved, as I am taking on school online for the first time, it is almost the end of the school term and finals are coming, also with that I am working full time and not being there long I got put on to work 10 hour days. Topping all of the stress out right there, I am getting married in a week and have to worry about the plans and making sure everything is going to go smooth, but I am still living and doing well in my classes. I found a place and a job, I am making money while planning a wedding and attending school.
Now, there are a lot of people out there that might be thinking, yes, but there are so many good sides to attending college. Of course there are! We can go over some discussions witht college being worth all the money spent on it. However, this is going to depend on which degree you go for and which school you attend. If you attend a private school for truck driving, or construction, you are definitely wasting your money. If you do things the right way you could potentially even get paid to attend college. There are millions of scholarships on the internet and in your community. If you apply for these scholarships they could pay for your entire college tuition. My fiancé and one of her cousins are both currently getting paid to attend college. They have received scholarships from the college and plus some from the community and it has covered all of their schooling for the year.
I am not the sort of person that would try telling you that college is something you have to do. Just try considering that college graduates do, technically, make more money than non-graduates. It is statistically shown that a college graduate with a bachelor’s degree will usually make $30,000 dollars per year more than a person that doesn’t graduate or even attend school. Also, with all of the current jobs that are hiring, are beginning to require a college degree. Even if it is a two year degree, most companies and employers will hire someone that has attended college over someone who has not. It is estimated by the Georgetown University that when 2018 comes around, approximately 63 percent of the jobs in the world will require some sort of college education (College Education Pros and Cons, 2014).
This is crazy, but it makes sense, because it should mean that these people have better thinking skills. People who go to college are more likely to succeed in life and they usually have higher employment rates, a larger salary than anyone without schooling. The college graduates usually tend to have a better social life than those who don’t attend. This is because they have to interact with their classmates and they won’t be judged as much as they may have been in high school. I used to be like a hermit and never really talked to anyone before I lived on the college campus last year. I was quiet all the time until one guy who lived on the same floor as me asked me to play football with him and some other guys. This was my beginning of “coming out of my shell”. I am not a person to go out of my way to talk to people, but I definitely don’t avoid talking to anyone because of my experiences at college.
When I say that a college degree is worth it, I mean it. There are some people that can easily be taught to do jobs, yes, but will it help them do mathematics on the job or maybe learning to draw the proper way an architect draws? Do you think that just anyone could go into the engineering program and begin learning everything in a short time? This isn’t very likely. How about having a guy off of the street performing surgery when it is needed? I know that I wouldn’t like that. The economy needs people to go to college and become educated. The students could potentially get their college paid for in full; or if a student is in sports, they will usually have college for free. They just need to play sports which they usually love to do anyway, along with attending class regularly.
I believe that college is worth every penny paid. Even if the tuition is increasing, it has been put on a freeze at most colleges. Along with the capability of receiving a better job after graduating with a degree. Learning what to do for a job before you get to the job site would be well worth the time of the company and for you. With a college degree, people tend to have a better life outcome. They are usually more successful and live longer. I like the idea that college could possibly be 100 percent paid for also, and along with the experiences at college are wonderful. They create intrapersonal skills that are needed at every single job. So, even if someone could potentially become successful from dropping out or not attending college, the students that graduate from college are going to have better chances at a job.
