and driven to study for my classes here at Babson. It is because I am in a new environment, and my classes are extremely refreshing, mature and interesting. I am receiving good grades, which in turn makes my family proud, making me content. Building relationships, living independently and managing my time effectively are all bonus successes in my life right now and I hope to continue to succeed in everything I do.

They say college is the best time of your life and I see why now. Before Babson, I had a certain view of myself: sometimes good, sometimes bad. I have started to get a sharpened vision of who I am by living independently, making new friends, experiencing CLTP, FME, presenting in front of people and a number of other things! Now, I see that I love to socialize, I like to surround myself with a certain type of crowd, I am extremely picky when it comes to food, I love accounting and finally, my family is the most important thing to me. All these things have allowed me to change my mindset about some things. For example, I came into college thinking that I should stick to an Indian crowd at Babson because they are my “safe zone”. Yet, after growing as an individual, I realize I love the company of different cultures more! For example, Thanksgiving was a brilliant experience. It was my first Turkey dinner and it was simply delicious. I would love to explore more traditions like that while at Babson.

With having such a positive first semester, I believe I have been able to accomplish everything I had set out to do. Some of the goals I had set for myself that I have definitely achieved include being independent, breaking my shell to expand my views of the world, being more social, being healthy, getting good grades even if it meant suffering through some sleepless nights, being involved on campus and finally applying for a leadership positions. I have had a very successful first semester except for one thing; I still have not gotten rid of my procrastination problems!

I will definitely live my days here at Babson to the fullest, by setting more goals for myself. I want to lead a very successful FME business and hope to generate a lot of money to donate to the Special Olympics. I also want to get a leadership position here at Babson; either Peer Mentor or FME Mentor! Next, I wish to study abroad because travelling is one of my passions. I also want to get an internship in the United States of America! I will definitely be working towards these goals.

All in all, my first semester at Babson was a delightful experience and I am content with where I am in my life right now. It’s funny how I now call Babson home, when just a few months back, home was 8,122 miles, 3 months and 11 days away.
