All of those girls were just delightfully childlike in their own ways, each of which I admired, seeing myself in their personalities. Paxton and her struggle with mental illness, Christina and her willingness to fully commit herself to the happiness of others without thought of consequence to herself, as Frances’ yearning for self-expression. These girls would soon become the most important people in this emotionally confused sophomore year.

After only knowing these girls for 2 days, Frances apparently decided she knew me well enough to invite me to her brother’s wedding… which was also the next day. Frances had one of the biggest families I have ever known. She also had the most accepting, and most loving family. She had two older brothers, fraternal twins, who were 23 at the time. I was attending the first born of the two’s wedding, Johnathan. He was a pretty big guy, about 6’2”. He had a shaved head, a beard, a moustache, and a tattoo that spread across his back reading “Ortiz”, the family name. He was the kind of guy I would be scared of if it wasn’t for me already knowing that he’s just a big scary looking teddy bear. The younger of the two’s name was Christian. He was… Nothing like his brother. Had a full head of messy cut hair, clean shaven, shorter, slightly chubbier. He looked sincere, and naturally kind. Johnathan’s soon to be wife was named Cristina. Yes, just like my friend introduced earlier. People have the tendency to mix the two up sometimes, so we came to the conclusion that we should give my friend Christina the loving nickname “Christinita”, since she is the younger of the two, while calling Johnathan’s wife by her name. Christina was a larger Latina woman, devoted to god and to helping others. She always did everything she could to help me when times eventually got tough.

Oh, Christian was in a relationship as well. The girl’s name was Rachel. She was a shorter girl, with long, purple hair
