as gifts since we did not decide to be born. We have been given life by others. Because my body is never fully my own” (Bioethics, June 2011). This is an ongoing argument that the fact that people should never receive a body part for less than a gift. It also argues that it is a common and natural thing to donate these human organs for sale so that others can receive them. Another argument, in this case, is to make the sale of human organs legal, human organs have a shortage and that the donor “as the most rightful owners of the value of their organs and tissues have a right to participate in this industry. The literature advocating the removal of restrictions on human organ and tissue sales has mostly done so on the grounds that it is justified by the need to eliminate the organ shortage” (Boyer, 2012). Yes, the facts clearly can prove that there is a there is a shortage among the human organ industry now, but trying to see both sides, human organs if they made them legal to sell would require some strong laws and regulations to back them up. While there are laws out there now surrounding the human organ sales rights would be a possible way to keep people away from the black-market , It is complicating to find those that still sell under the table and bypass the laws, so this issue needs to be more resolved with the law and help crack it down. Another issue that is brought up against making the sale of organs legal is that the organ comes from a human body and it should be treated with dignity. When selling a human body part, it becomes exploitation as well as an invasion of that person that donated the organ, even if the donation was of their own free will. There is some incidents that human trafficking that this is not always the case, and there is options that are out there for the poor but most still only see their only option would be to sell their selves for a profit.
The issue in Costa Rica is the cause for the topic into the and should cause awareness to get everyone to d their research. There are serious issues going on with the black market and trafficking of human organs and it is mostly the poor people that being hurt out of this and taken advantage of by offering large amounts of money just to get them to sell their organs in return. They are set that this is the only way to make money with no other options or resources but yo sell an organ. There should be resources made available and known to the poor or the people that are just selling for money. It is a lot of money but it is a high risk of lives and the lives of the person receiving the organ as well. The person receiving the organ might not be in good health to donate and the person getting the organ will get the health problems associated with that person that donated. Overall, the legalization of human organs should not happen without the strict laws that can support it. If not it should stay illegal due to the exploitation of the poor. People need to treat their bodies with respect and dignity.
