and restrict their phone and computer usages. Mr. Too Strict is scary looking: tall, muscular, and has a face that scares off little children. Nobody even dares to correct him on anything because if they do Mr. Too Strict roars back like a lion. His children are too scared to talk to him because they’re afraid he’s going to be upset and take away one of their privileges. Although, Mr. Too Strict may seem intimidating, deep inside his heart, he really cares for his children.
Another common dad is the Business Dad. Strictly at 5 in the morning, Mr. Business wakes up for another day at work. He dresses up and eats breakfast with a bit of time left. Just before leaving, Mr. Business goes upstairs to check on the kids. Quietly opening the door to his daughter’s room, he can see that she’s sleeping soundly. Mr. Business thinks to himself if he should wake her up but instead closes the door and goes downstairs. With his time precisely, he kisses his wife goodbye and hurries outside to his brand new Cadillac. He then drives down to his job as a CEO in a big company. After working the whole day, exhausted Mr. Business drives back to his mansion. As he goes in, he can hear his kids laughing and playing. Walking into the living room with a tiring smile, Mr. Business says “Hey, Kids! How was school?” The kids stop laughing and playing for a second before saying “It was good.” “That’s good.”, Mr. Business replies as he slowly walks away to the kitchen. Over the years, connecting with his children has been rough for him. Although, Mr. Business seems like a dad who doesn’t care about his children, he actually does. He loves and provides for his children differently than other dads do.
The least common dad is the Stay At Home Dad. Every Monday morning, Mr. Mom wakes up from the alarm at exactly 7 in the morning. He gets up to wake up his kids. He goes into his daughter’s room, opens up the curtain, and yells out “Wake up, school time!” After waking up his kids, Mr. Mom goes downstairs to make some scrambled eggs and toast for his kids. After his kids are done eating, he gets in the Toyota minivan with all three kids waiting to go to school. After dropping his kids, Mr. Mom goes back to the house to do some cleaning and cooking. He spends the rest of the day watching TV and waiting for his kids to get home. When it’s 3PM, he excitedly gets into his minivan to pick up his children. After the children get into the car, they eagerly tell their father about their day at school. After coming home, the dad spends the rest of the time helping kids with homework. Even though, Mr. Mom’s wife is the provider and works all day, everyday, Mr. Mom can’t ask for anything better than to spend time with his kids.
Sports Dads, Cool Dads, Strict Dads, Business Dads, and Stay at Home Dads are few of the many dads in the world. A dad can’t be a dad without his famous dad jokes. Wherever one may be, their dad will try to squeeze one those lame jokes he thinks is really funny. Other dads—including my own—embarrass his kid in public in front of all their friends. They tell his son or daughter’s friend embarrassing stories and he shows their friends pictures of them when they were a baby. Every dad is different but one thing they all share in common is the love they have for their kids.
