10. Because he wanted to make sure she was humiliated like he was.
11. She suffers from feeling ill and Benedick suffered from a toothache. Margaret is somewhat sympathetic towards them.
12. Dogberry tells Leonato that he has two prisoners that need interrogated. Leonato is in a hurry to get to the wedding so he cannot examine them. If he had examined them then that would have pretty much been the end of the story, Claudio wouldn't shame Hero and they would just get married and have been happy.

Act 4
1. She is totally dumbfounded and speechless. She probably doesn't tell him she wasn't even there because she is too shocked to say anything.
2. He is furious that Claudio would make such an accusation against his daughter. He doesn't defend her because he is just as dumbfounded as she is, in one line he even asks if he is dreaming. He also doesn't defend her because he starts to believe that what Claudio says is true. I think that a parent should always defend their child as best they can.
3. Don Pedro doesn't defend Hero because he saw the same thing Claudio did and came to the same conclusion.
4. Beatrice's reaction is one of anger towards Claudio and also confusion. Beatrice doesn't defend her because she has stopped being her bedfellow recently so she cannot attest for what happened last night.
5. I think he noticed that Hero acted like an innocent woman would because he has a completely unbiased opinion in this situation.
6. The Friar's an is to tell everyone that Hero is dead and judge the reaction of Claudio and Don Pedro to figure out if it was truthful or a conjured up story. Leonato softens when the Friar gives him hope that Claudio was lying.
7. Beatrice is slightly unfair to ask Benedick to kill his closest friend. It won't undo the slander but Beatrice is mad and wants Claudio to pay for what he did to her. There are several things she could do herself but she is testing Benedick's love for her and seeing where his heart really lies.
8. There are many funny things that happen during the examination such as Dogberry being himself and asking questions in weird ways and having overly dramatic reactions to the answers. They are fairly well examined and confess to what they did.
Act 5
1. He is so upset because he is beginning to once again believe what Claudio said rather than trusting his daughter. You can tell that he isn't believing in her as much anymore because he says that she has been shamed which means that he isn't trusting her that it was a lie.
2. They think that Leonato and Benedick are joking with them. It is very surprising at how jovial Claudio is so near to the death of the one he loved.
3. I think that Borachio and Comrade confess because they are ashamed of what they have done and fear what might happen if they don't confess.
4. Claudio tries to show his repentance by telling Leonato that he can figure up any punishment he wants and he will abide by it. I think that Claudio's agreement to marry shows some growth in maturity but also a good bit of his impulsiveness as well.
5. Benedick asks Margaret to get Beatrice so that they can talk. Neither Benedick nor Beatrice get an answer when they ask each other what made the other fall in love.
6. I think that it is a good epitaph and states what was said wrong against her very well. The epitaph is important to him because he wants to be sure everyone knows she was not a prostitute. I think that he holds getting married in a little more reverent manner now.
7. I am surprised that Leonato seems to have rid himself of all anger towards Claudio.
8. I think Benedick would have fought Claudio if it came down to that.
9. Benedick wants the Friar to marry him to Beatrice. They both beat around the bush but know that the other truly loves them.
10. I am surprised by Claudio's reaction. Leonato gains the knowledge that Claudio will be true to his daughter and that what he has heard is the truth.
