FINAL DEFINITION ESSAY

“Deep Within”

Do you remember that girl who is as loud as the sirens disturbing the serene ambiance of the night seeking for a temporary shelter from the harsh world out there? You hated her. She annoys everyone with her boisterous laugh, talks really fast and compares everything else in this world with her life problems. Little did you know it was the only way she knows how to release the inner thoughts she had. Little did you know that she was already sending a message to anyone who would care. It is what we call a “Hugot” line. The term “Hugot” in English is the act of pulling (something). It has been a medium used mostly by netizens to vent out thoughts and feelings. It is not taken by its literal meaning. Instead, “Hugot” is illustrating what the person is going through that is connected to one’s personal emotions. Often contrasted to the use of direct implication, “Hugot” is defined as an act of expressing suppressed thoughts from numerous causes wherein a person puts these thoughts into words that are able to ease one’s strong sentiments.

“Hugot” lines can be manifested by people with impulsive emotions from their past experiences. People often describe these sometimes mind boggling thoughts as the gateway to one’s vast psyche where the entire person’s passion lies. It illustrates the deep sea of thoughts in the most discreet yet mysterious way possible. “Hugot” happens when a person starts to realize and correlate these ideas with other far-fetched ideas in an unexpected way. The echoing sound of a pen tapping, the disturbing cough heard in the most tranquil place, the sound of one’s grumbling stomach echoing in an empty space can all be given an entirely different meaning for those who commit this act. If two things appear to be connected in an unusual manner, then it must qualify as a “Hugot” premise. It is a new way of expressing deep thoughts that people are not really comfortably shared to other people. The types of people who use “Hugot” lines do not need specifications since it is subjective or according to one’s perspective. Anyone with an Achilles’ heel can express the loud sound of a heart thumping that resembles a machine going haywire near to exploding in a different manner. Though other types of people commit this act, teenagers specifically are more involved. Commonly found in social networking sites, “Hugot” lines are what they use as a medium to vent out sentiments. May it be the loud but subtle plea of a girl to her favorite heartbreak, the sound of a guy looking for someone to be with in the midst of the thunderstorm that struck his heart and left it helpless, or the blissful aura of two souls who had made their way two each other after all the trials given by this hostile and rapacious world can be found online, silently waiting for people who would take the time and look into the gruesome or warm fuzziness a person senses. According to Shinde (2014), “It's the easier way to vent out your feelings, you can write as much and whatever you wish to, without mentioning who it is for. With new age connectivity, your outburst will be public in a fraction of seconds.
