As the years went by, high school only became more complicated and a bit exhausting. In third my year the work started building up and the distractions grew. I struggled massively because I only focused on going out with my friends instead of doing my work.Things started to went downwards.
Already struggling with school, peer pressure , and missing my parents. When I was fifteen years old I decided to move in my parents home it was on the immediate left of where I was staying.Aunty Nancy decided that I should take care of my own responsibilities since I moved out of her home.I was a big man in a little boy’s body.I had to wash my clothes, iron uniforms and take care of my parents home. With no supervision,I would follow my peers at school.I no longer cared about my school attendance and tardiness, I would get locked out of school at least twice a week.I had no respect for any of my teachers, reported and put on probation numerous times.
The school had enough of the horrible behaviour. The school board called my god parents for an emergency meeting regarding my future at the school. That was the moment I realised that it was as real as it could get.I was about to get removed from one of the most prestigious school in the country.I sat in the meeting ,tears rolled down my eyes, begging for a second chance.None of my ‘friends’ was there with me.In the end the board agreed to give me a second chance with strict guidelines.I was on academic probation for the remaining two years.Nonetheless I survived the last two years of my high school and I also met the requirements to graduate making my family proud.
In my five years of high school I became well rounded and became better in my time management. I can truly say that high school has certainly helped me grow and has opened my eyes on a lot of things. High school has equipped me for college and I am now even more ready for a greater challenge.
