C. The elderly have paved the way for generations to come and we should celebrate them by honoring their legacies and ensure that their last days are their best days.
Summary:
As senior citizens become more physically impaired they are subject to abuse and neglect. In present day, we are seeing more and more cases in which the elderly are being physically abused and neglected in nursing homes and not receiving quality care as promised by many of these senior assisted living facilities. Individuals entrust that when they leave their loved ones in the care of these facilities that they are going to be receiving optimal care and are often surprised and shocked to find out that their loved ones are being physically abused and neglected.
In order to shed light on this issue it is important to really understand the mindset of the individuals operating these facilities. It is easy for many of these facilities to say that they are providing quality care but actually doing so is another story. Often times the individuals operating these facilities are simply doing so because they know that family members will seek out “what they think” is the best care for their family members and are willing to pay top dollar. Essentially these assisted living facilities hire individuals who are not qualified to care for the elderly at minimum wage, while charging thousands of dollars a month to these families. In conclusion I would caution all of us to explore all necessary options and to consider the ramifications before we decide to put our loved ones in any Assisted Living Facility.
