Chapter 5 of Elie Wiesel's novel Night, starts up by Elie Wiesel questioning why god is being so cruel to the Jewish people. That’s when Elie Wiesel and his father decides not to celebrate Jewish New Year while all the rest of the Jews were celebrating. Then soon after that Elie Wiesel was transferred to a new building or block without his father. While he is their he finds out that a selection is finna happen to clear out the sickest and the weakest Jews out of the camp. But a block leader tells people if they do not want to be selected and known as the sickest or the weakest that they better have energy so they will not be selected.He had so much energy that the physician didn’t even get to see his number. Later on his father passed the physician and passed but later on in the day the SS said that he is to weak to work effectively but Elie and his father convinced them that he still was strong and would be willing to work.And in chapter 6 of Elie Wiesel novel Night the prisoners are forced to march 42 miles from Buna. During the harsh and crazy march they can not have no slack. If they do slack off from working they can risk getting killed by a group or killed on the spot.A lot of men were dying and freezing to death in their sleep. To make sure they will only let people close their eyes to make sure they do not fall asleep.
