The biggest “so called” negative of video games is the effect on our minds. We are made to believe that video games make us dumber. This is not true. The effects of video games on the mind are positive when not abused. In a recent study done by the University of California, the mind strengthens when video games are played. The study showed that video games allowed children to multitask better after having played video games. The effect on adults is also positive. The cognitive functions of the adult mind decrease with age due to the fact that life does not get harder as you get better. Video games can now be seen as mental disease preventers.

Finally the army can ready soldiers in the field, however this costs more money and that money could be used to create weapons to our enemies’ standard. Before you ban your kids from ever playing video games, think of the benefits if the length of time is controlled by the parent.
