In conclusion, For many reasons these two poets are considered a confessional poet of the time period that permit me to understand the meaning of their poems and the meaning of the confessional style that a lot poets took this two writers as example to start writing confessional poems. Reason as the depression that these two poets had after the situation that each lived, are the reasons of why they made themselves into confessional writers. Furthermore they are considered two of the pioneers in this poetry type, and in the present they still being examples to explain the confessional style and I am sure that both of them will be continue being an example to explain this type of poetry. Confessional poetry emphasizes the intimate, and sometimes unflattering, information about details of the poet’s personal life, such as in poems about mental illness, sexuality, and depression. Moreover I decided to compare these two poets because both of them at the end of their story, they decided to kill themselves. Berryman died at the age of 57 from October 25, 1914 to January 7, 1972. There clearly appear that he never could overcome the memory of his father suicide when he was just 12 years old. At the other hand Sylvia Plath decided to kill herself as well when she was just 30 years old in February 11, 1963. And as Berryman I can conclude that she never could overcome the separation from his husband, and even her children could not make her happy. Finally these two poets for me represent the whole confessional poetry for how they confessed all their problematic life using poetry and furthermore they were contemporary poets that lived in the same era and died in the same era as well and by the same way.
