Objective of the Study

Generally, the study aimed to develop an Inventory System of De Castrence Paint and Constructions Supplies.

This provides and efficient and systemized manner of transaction in inventory process with all its clients and at the same time resolving the old and manual system.

Specifically, it aimed to:

1. We determine the problems encountered by the organization on their manual inventory system.

2. Determine the organization's specific needs and details regarding their desired automated inventory system.

3. Identify the program software for creating the automated inventory system.

4. for the organization test and assess the inventory system.

Significance of the Study

The systematized designed program for De Castrence Paint Center and Construction Supplies would help them gain prospective client and conduct a hassle-free management of their sales, inventory, and major reports.

This study would be beneficial to the following:

Management. A new system from an old manual transaction helps De Castrence Paint Center and Construction Supplies to improve the process of their transaction and more easily identified each product that they’ve owned. It also helps them meet their goals at the end of the month by using the system granting the satisfaction of their customers with permanent vision of success in their minds.

Customers. The system gives client satisfaction for fast and efficient transactions.

Future Researchers. This system helps other researchers to create and improvements and new processes using the program to help other companies with their problem. Moreover, De Castrence Paint Center and Construction Supplies is an example of manual transaction on their inventory process and improve by this systemized designed program.

Time and Place of the Study

The development of the study has come up with (4) different phases. The collection of requirements and analysing of data and business process was done from second week of September to end of September. The system database and screen design was done on the whole month of October. The third one is building prototype wherein researchers worked with the probable flow of the program prior to its objectives scheduled on the first week to second week of November. The evaluation was scheduled on third week of November. The last phase, for the system development, the actual testing of the problems within the De Castrence Paint Center and Construction Supplies was schedules on the first week to second week of December. The place of building the system and working on its documents beat the respective house of the researchers, at Velez’s and Gonzales’ residence in Soldiers Hills IV and Bahayang Pag-Asa.

Scope and Limitation

The scope of the study covers the information of the De Castrence Paint Center and Construction Supplies inventory record. It includes the generation report in the backup file such as inventory record. The study focuses in processing of inventory system of the store. Its concern is the recording of inventory and produce report needed by the organizer especially on each item’s description.

Definition of Terms

The terms that will be used in this study will be defined operationally.

Inventory. A complete list of items such as property, goods in stock, or the contents of a building.

Systemize. Is refers to an arrange files per an organized system.

Inventory system. Refers to a computer-based system for tracking inventory levels, orders, sales and deliveries.

Manual process of manual data processing. Is this refers to data processing that requires humans to manage and process the data throughout its existence. Manuals data processing utilizes non-technological tools which include paper, writing utensils and physical filing cabinets.

Microsoft Visual Studio 2010. Is refers to a complete toolset that simplifies application development for individuals or teams, allowing the delivery of scalable, high-quality applications. Whether writing code, building databases, testing, or debugging, you can increase your productivity using powerful tools that work the way you work.

SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS). Is refers to an integrated environment for managing a SQL Server infrastructure. SSMS provides a user interface that interacts with SQL Server. Microsoft first released the product alongside SQL Server 2005, and it has continued to be a part of management for Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and Microsoft SQL Server 2012. SSMS provides tools to configure, manage and administer instances of Microsoft SQL Server, bringing together a range of graphical and visual design tools and script editors that simplify working with SQL Server.

Functionality. Is refers to expressed as a totality of essential functions that the software product provides. It is also important to note that the presence or absence of these functions in a software product can be verified as either existing or not, in that it has a Boolean value. Each of the following characteristics can only be measured when the functionality of a given system is present. And thus, a system cannot possess usability characteristics if the system does not function correctly.

Reliability. Once a software system is functioning, as specified, and delivered the reliability characteristic defines the capability of the system to maintain its service provision under defined conditions for defined periods of time. One aspect of this characteristic is fault tolerance that is the ability of a system to withstand component.

Usability. Usability only exists regarding functionality and refers to the ease of use for a given function. The ability to learn how to use a system is also a major sub characteristic of usability.
