Social media, a devil in disguise

==========

Is Social Media a devil in disguise?

In the modern day social climate, it is unacceptable to say that social media’s impact has grown dramatically in the last decade. Much to the ire of many parents (including my own), grandparents, and even some teenagers, nowadays it’s all about what one posts on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, etc.

Through the years, we've watched technology grow like a child budding into adulthood. We treat technology as a family member—even if that is a little co-dependent. You can't blame us, though; it's certainly made aspects of our lives easier: We're no longer forced to send letters through the postal service, book vacations through travel agents, shop in stores, visit the library for research material, or wait for our photos to be developed. Thanks to technology, all of these activities can be performed either digitally or online.

Social Media is a direct result of the innovations of technology, thanks these, now we can be connected with people located in others continents, make Friends of different part of the World, meet places only seeing photos, find or recommend jobs. Well, not all is amazing with social media. In the other hand, we have negative aspect like, now we are more connect and know more about people is so far of us, but disconnected of our family, our reality. Some go as far to say that youth that are growing in this kind of climate “don’t know how to talk to people offline”, and that social media is “the devil”.

If we analyze the aspects of social media, its true that maybe its consider dangerous, because maybe we cannot se the really face of the person that is chatting us, or maybe get depressed with negatives comments on photos. However, Young people can maintain social connections and support networks that otherwise wouldn't be possible, and can access more information than ever before. The communities and social interactions young people form online can be invaluable for bolstering and developing young people's self-confidence and social skills.

Returning to the principal idea, is social media a devil in disguise? Having said different points of view, we can consider social media like a tool that's with benefits that ultimately outweigh the negatives, and that’s worth keeping.
