Talking about attributes, it can’t be complete if we don’t have weakness. My weakness can be my impatience, my self-doubting nature and restlessness. I constantly doubt myself and my capabilities, and feel even though I can do a task or job nicely, I feel I can never do this, or I am not very good at this and that makes me very restless and impatient. I constanly, think as I am not able to perform well, which to my contracdiction, I ususally am very good at performing tasks, I feel I cant do this. This doubting nature of mine, makes me restless, always making me think, am I in the right profession, or will I ever excel in this field or deprtment, will I be fired, which is directly correlated with impatience and ideas like I should either changing jobs, or companies or fields, which affects my work. By stabilizing my thoughts, and not doubting my self and generating more self condifednce, I would be able to be more patient and less restless.
For me, an ideal job or career for me or where I see myself 5 to 10 years from now would be as a brand manager or product manager for a health care government body or a biopharma giant. I would love to see myself, as an incharge who deals with core branding , advertising, customer communication and development of new drugs, biotech kits, pharma products from an idea to a completely formulated medicine, available in the market. As the product manager or the brand development manager, I would love to see myself involved in each and every step of this new medicine development. Also, this includes dealing with multiple departments as human resources, where we need to hire new people with right knowledge about products we are developing, dealing with media, government liasoning, customers, marketing, licensing, clinical research conduction, finances etc. Hence, seeing myself handling a brand manager or product manager position for a biopharma organization and being multitasking dealing with so many deprtments, would be challenging and really something that I would love to achieve.
If I were a Human resource manager, and if I were to hire a brand manager or product manager for my pharmaceutical company, I would hire candidates , sourcing through the following mediums :-
- Internet ( looking for resumes from internet through sites like monster, indeed, Linkedin, Naurki.com, simplyhired etc.) This is a free source, and by entering required keywords, it would reflect the best resumes of only those candidates, that fits into my category.
- Hiring a scientific HR consultant, who specilisez in only sourcing, candidates for biotech/pharma organizations only . As this will make entire process quick and easy.
- On campus recruitments drive :- visiting colleges and universities, imparting degrees like MBA in pharmaceutical management, healthcare management, Biotechnology management and entrepreneurship etc. .such courses are meant for students who have degrees in life science and pharma field and wants to get management degree to ehnace their career prospects. Hence, picking up candidates from such instituioons would be a safe bet.
If I were a HR manager of biopharma company, I would definitely concentrate on this three core strategies, to source my candidates for the position of product manager or brand manager, as it will be very consice, direct and straight forward. Sourcing best candidates through websites, campuses or by hrirng a scientific consultant seems best .
