training I would recommend for the organization would be cross training, allowing employees from the scheduling/planning department to see how their actions effect other departments. Being able to reduce overhead cost by streamlining product will differentiate WCOI from competitors by ensuring inventory available for customers. This streamlining means scheduling/planning has to understand the forecast and customer demands. Cross training would show newer less experienced employees how each plan they put in actions is executed on the production floor.

There is also informal training where employees are encouraged to learn from their coworkers and ask questions in order to obtain new information. This form of training can be important as learning styles are unique. One employee might have taken something away from a training course that other employees did not. When employees co-train each other it allows for different points of view on them material.

WCOI business goals are to be a leader in the injection molding market. In order to achieve their goal training would need to happen within all departments. Schedule/planning needs to ensure that they use their training to streamline production and make sure changes happen in the most effective and cost saving ways. WCOI can continue to produce their business plan to be the market leader and increase positive results by implementing these training options. The key will be to ensure that the correct employees, based on experience and personality, within the scheduling/planning department have been assigned the best training to help them become successful employees. Doing this will allow the WCOI to be on track to be the market leader for customer satisfaction.
