INTRODUCTION

This chapter starts with a brief description of the company, its capital structure, products and services that it serves. Along with it, the chapter is followed by the background of the study where more focus is given about the Agarbatti and its insight. Likewise, problem statement follows the background, where by the research problem are highlighted and major objectives of the study are presented. Also, this chapter deals with the limitations of the study and anticipated solutions to solve these limitations.

Surya Nepal Private Ltd. Formally known as Surya Tobacco Company was established in 1986. The company has a Vision of "Growth through Quality and Excellent". SNPL is a joint venture between British American Tobacco (BAT) holding 2%, ITC Limited with 59% and Nepalese entrepreneurs holding 39% shares. SNPL operates through its factory in Simra, and Tanahu. SNPL, s head office is located in Kathmandu.

SNPL is currently engaged in the business of Cigarettes, Safety Matches, Agarbatti and Readymade Garments in Nepal. SNPL’s commitment to its corporate vision “enduring value for all stakeholders” has been uncompromising through the years and is reflected in every product, process and service provided by the company.

The company has been awarded with prestigious FNCCI National Excellence Award for being the best managed corporation in Nepal. The company is awarded with various national safety and environmental awards and is ISO -9001:2000 certified company.

1. SNPL Jazzmandu 2015

The 13th Surya Nepal Pvt. Ltd. Jazzmandu kicked off from 04 November 2015 for a week in twelve different venues of Kathmandu.

Apart from this, Surya Nepal has already provided relief material worth Rs 5 million of tarpaulins and basic food supplies in the immediate aftermath of the earthquake to the people in the effected districts and continues to mobilize its resources on future relief work.
