The final business model to be discussed here is subscription. This method of purchasing a product where daily, weekly, monthly or yearly charges are applied for using the product, rather than full price of the product, moreover the service can be discontinued when no longer in use. In Adobe’s case the subscription service can be monthly or yearly depending on the customer preference. Advantages of this type of model are the convenience and customer loyalty gained over a period of time. Also makes easier for customer to make payments, Adobe’s Photoshop used to cost $699 for full software, but now customers can subscribe for $9.99 monthly – which is more affordable, as when service not required can be stopped.
