The sixth one was about gender sensivity. Gender sensitivity, also known as sex equality, gender egalitarianism, sexual equality, or equality of the genders, is the view that everyone should receive equal treatment and not be discriminated against based on their gender. This is one of the objectives of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which seeks to create equality in law and in social situations, such as indemocratic activities and securing equal pay for equal work. In practice, the objective of gender equality is for people to acquire, if they so choose, equal treatment throughout a society, not just in politics, the workplace, or any other policy-designated sphere.
The seventh was about culture and the arts. Culture is about the way of life of a certain person or group. Art is about channeling your feeling into a drawing, sculpture, poem or any forms vanity. Many countries are largely populated by immigrants, and the culture is influenced by the many groups of people that now make up the country. This is also a part of growth. As the countries grow, so does its cultural diversity.
The eight was about media literacy. Media Literacy is a 21st century approach to education. It provides a framework to access analyze, evaluate, create and participate with message in a variety of forms – from print to video to the Internet. Media literacy builds an understanding of the role of media in society as well as essential skills to inquiry and self-expression necessary for citizen of a democracy. Last one, was about Philippine Education. Honestly, the system of education in the Philippines is very bad, because the government doesn’t give much funds to education. The government should give it more money, because “ Ang kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan,” which is true. We don’t know what the future holds for us. The definition of education guiding mainstream schools today is that education is the delivery of knowledge, skills, and information from teachers to students. While the above metaphor—education as a delivery system—sounds reasonable, it misses what is most important about education. This mistaken idea of what true education is and how it can be achieved is the root problem in mainstream education today. We are all meant to do something great, but what if we can’t achieve it, because we have a poor medium when it comes to education?
During this NSTP, I learned that our country is going through a lot right now. And that we should do our part in protecting the country. It also helps us learn what it means to think versus react; to set our own course versus responding primarily to the course set by the group. Imagine being able to think clearly in a situation that was result for us to be emotionally. As a person we don't know what would happen tomorrow we might be a leader of our country so lets practice ourselves to be a person whom aware with his/her ability. And that's how important the self awareness to self leadership.
