In my opinion, what makes Eric Baille a good entrepreneur is the fact that he is very spontaneous, he is . From a simple statement, he was able to find an adapted solution and to set up a company running incredibly well in just 5 years. He totally understood the power of social media communication and the importance of being the right man at the right place. Also, since the beginning, Adesias stayed a young, creative and humorous company by erasing the concept of hierarchy stricto-sensu. “Our goal is not to become a worldwide company, we prefer focus on things that we like to do and keep it at a human size.” The small size of the company make the working environment enjoyable and friendly, and every person working there is really dedicated in what he/she does. It is one of the key of the success. People who work there are also highly involved in every decision made, and are more like a “family” than co-workers.
What are his best advices to you in creating a new venture?
Eric advised me first to be sure to be passionate in my project: “No company can be built without passion; no person can feel fulfilled without passion”. Also, he told me that you have to be hard-working and very precise: “You can’t just make suppositions about your potential market; you have to practice as much as you theorize”. Know your market; know what you are talking about, in order to be successful. Also building a company is not just about being able to write business plans; it is more about meeting the good persons, networking… And in order to meet the good persons, you have to be present at every events linked to your project, to talk to every person that could be helpful for your business.
What next? How does this learning experience apply to your personal entrepreneurship goal?
By talking to someone who built a company while he was still at school, I was able to understand that I should rather take the risk now than later. I’ve already worked on several projects but never made it “real”, and having this discussion with this person is really motivating. Since September, I work more and more on an application project, and I feel that the only way to succeed is dedication. Also, I was able to talk to him about my project, and having his feedback was very interesting. With his experience, he could highlight the weak points by asking pertinent questions, but also help me on other points. He was happy to do that, because it’s the way his own company reached success. His views on how to develop your business by doing what you like with the persons that you like was truly inspiring. That’s how, by hard-working, you can hope to be fulfilled personally and professionally.
