The last rhetorical appeal that the commercial includes is pathos. The sad music of the commercial and the St. Jude voice over saying “just for a gift of 19 dollars a month you can join the fight”. “just 63 cents a day is so important”(St. Jude “fighting cancer”), creates ultimate yes or no to donating. The young children being comfort by their parents makes the commercial more personal to the audiences. The little boy calling his mom forms emotion in several ways. It brings the audience back to that is just a child, since you see a child who suffered from cancer calling his mom because he need her. The kids not able to leave their room because they are to sick bring sadness, because child should be able to get up and go out and play and enjoy their life. You who do not donating money to save a child life might seem like being a child to death. The make viewers look back at the children dying and you are not doing anything about it. Beating a child to death is a tragic event, but child abuse is also a popular topic, the audience feels bad about a child about to die.
The commercial purpose in the event you should donate, by using pathos, ethos, and logos through its use of children and the controversial message.
By the making the audience feel sadden and bad for the children, and by it ineffectual Mr. St. Jude voice. The message that childhood cancer hurts many families and children and it has bad health effects. Childhood cancer is generality seen throughout the world, as a bad thing but, so is the childhood cancer commercial and ads.
