Before the implementation of online system, the buying and selling activities are only conducted in the florist shop. After a short period of time, the company gradually operate smoothly with the business activities. However, Mr Chin slowly realised that there are many customers that could not manage to visit his shop during their business hours which is from 9.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. as the customers are only able to come to his shop after working. For the convenience of the customers and also to maximize the sales revenue, Mr Chin decided to launch their online florist shop using electronic system. To launch his e-storefront, he hired a worker with IS technical related background to make a website for the company. With the use of Content Management System(CMS), the website has been successfully created and has been managing by the worker at all time since then. By then, the company’s sales have been gradually rising as online shopping has become more popular and be accepted by people than before.

Before the company implement the Transaction Processing System (TPS) to their daily business operation, the workers had to be aware of the stock in the florist shop, knowing when they should make their purchase from their supplier so that they have enough flowers to sell. This is very time-consuming and also, workers can make mistakes as there are many types of flowers in that shop. With the Transaction Processing System (TPS), the burden on worker’s shoulder has been removed. This is because TPS will automatically record the transactions as well as all of its effects on the stock database and produce documents related to the transactions. As a result, each transaction is completely processed immediately upon entry and the stock database is always up to date. Now, the workers can view the stock database at any time to see how much inventory is left and which of it is out-of-stock immediately.
