Is overpopulation really the problem?

First, we have to understand “what over population is?”

It is when the density of the population is too large and it provokes worsening of the environment and decreased quality of life.

Overpopulation is a relationship between human population and the environment.

The overpopulation is a result of a decreased in mortality rate, medical and technological advances like preventive medicine or fertility treatments, immigration and lack of family planning. (This topic is delicate because it is more normal in poor populations)

United nations projected for 2050 9.5 billion people, and for 2100 11 billion. Now we are l7.3 billion people.

Here we have the growth rate of population, as you can see countries like Brazil, Spain, Russia, China, now their rates are low, it is a result of better education and new social policies.

However, other countries present unusual rates, here we have Sudan, Ethiopia, Congo, Tanzania, Angola, Madagascar, Iraq, so they don’t have a control about I, and as you know most of them have high rates of poverty.

A especial case is in Mukuru, where two roomed iron shacks shelter families of eight or more, and as in other slums around the world, disease is rampant and food and employment are chronically short in supply, which helps explain its appalling life expectancy rates.

This problem affects the world in many aspects like: economically, socially, environmentally and politically.

Consequently, overpopulation is the problem of depletion of natural resources, degradation of environment, conflicts and wars, rise in unemployment and high cost of living.
