Will European politics and public sector be able to manage all this extra expenditures as the population ages and is characterized by movement, meanwhile the economic crisis is still a threat for many European countries? This is a question which in fact has involved the leaders of many countries to find the solutions which sometimes are oriented more in the short term than in the long term. Moreover, the emigrant crisis showed that EU wasn’t able to handle such emergencies which are reflected in the short term solution that EU found. In order to manage Syrian emigrants flux, the European solution came as a deal between EU and Turkey. Turkey promised to provide food, accommodation and healthcare for the Syrian emigrants, against a great sum of money given by EU. Latest articles have spotted that Turkey is not guarantying a minimum of welfare for the emigrants which might still be a problem to be reconsidered by EU governments and public sector.

Strategic management is also put in a question mark when it comes to politics and the latest EU concern which is Brexit. In a referendum made in United Kingdom, more than half population voted for Britain to leave EU. UK has always been the country who doubted about the long term existence of EU as they noted the differences between UK and EU. A couple of years ago, Grexit was discussed to be a potential leaving of Greece from the EU. Politically speaking, at the moment there are many suspicious people over EU from other countries who propose to make such referendum in their own countries. Now EU is focused on stabilizing such ideas and situations in order to keep moving forward to the integration process for many other countries who aspire to be part of it one day.

To sum up, EU is facing lots of problems just like all the countries do but in a difference that it is struggling to stay joint as a single unit. It’s up to the decision making by European governments and the ability of public sector to absorb and implement such decisions, to decide for the European countries future. Latest trends show that EU countries are more concerned about fighting different crisis than thinking strategically to extend their markets and improve their economic growth rates. A potential solution to facing these crises might be a greater collaboration and synergy between public and private sector. EU will show its greatness and its ability to stay as a single unit, if governments will succeed in managing the changes and in overcoming such challenges which threat EU long term existence.
