The problem of education is one that plagues America. Beyond the legislation, "The true problem is the way us Americans educate our children", says Daniel Rappaport, film producer and sexual assault awareness advocate, "We teach the boys to become aggressive men, dominant, and to see women as objects of conquest.” This problem is paramount in our society as we can see from quotes taken from the highest ranking power in our country. We now have the poster-boy of this sexist ideology as the leader of our World. As one strong student said on twitter, “If you want to understand why rape culture is alive in the USA, it's because Trump can admit to sexual assault & still get millions of votes”. Now, the damage is done so the call to action is not one to attempt to take away his earned win of the presidency. The call to action is now to advocate for heightened sexual assault awareness even harder than before. The fight is not over and we cannot lose hope over a position in government. We must denounce him as a role model for our men and our sons. We must teach the new generation that we are better than the sexist and vile comments of our leader. America as a whole should use this election cycle as a big slap in the face of just how prominent rape culture is in America. College-aged students now need to begin a revolution of policies and principles than discourage and actively protest such behavior. We must use this for good.
