system can prevent some dangerous people from buying guns, however people can still get guns through off-the-record swaps, purchases and trades with friends, drug dealer or other street sources. Remember, there are 300 millions of guns are already in the private hands. So gun control would only have a modest impact on the gun violence and it may increase the other acts of violence.
US has high rates of violence including gun violence and non-gun violence and what cause that? There is no denying the fact that guns can encourage the violence, but the non-gun homicide rate in US is the highest compared to the other developed countries and it is three times higher than the non-gun homicide rate in England. It seems like Americans are more violent than British people. The act of violence is more dependent on the people instead of the tools they use. There are other important factors which can cause the high rates of violence. The unemployment can lead to the hopelessness, which can causes the gun suicides which are the most cause of gun death, the unemployment makes people desperate and make them become robbers or even murderers. That factors also include the diversion of police attention to terrorism issue, the poor parenting and so on.
To conclude, U.S should establish stricter laws for gun ownership in every states, which can reduce the gun violence, but the impact is only modest. Gun control cannot effectively decrease the rate of violent crime in america. United States need to think about the primary cause of the high rate of violence and fundamentally reduce the violence.
