country.” This illustrates how it used to be an enjoying country. However, the country is now enriching with profits from manufacturer and it have been destroyed of our modern city. More words such as: “Pollution, Expanded and Interminably Pouring” shows that the country is rapidly break down into profits. Whereas in Mackellar’s poem, we can see the visual techniques through the use of pictures in the background. For example, “a picture of Uluru” portrayed as the land that she loved is in a degradation situation. In her poem, she uses lots of language features (devices) for example, “Lithe Linanas,” Flood, Fire and Famine.” These words are from alliteration. The use of alliteration helps to emphasise the characteristics of Australian rural life. Another example, is the used of personification. By using words like “She or Her” the poet referred to Australia country. The audience gets a feel that Australia is not just lifeless piece of land, but it is a land where people should feel proud of and should be treasure.

Furthermore, according to “Deeper Water,” we can tell the language techniques through the use of words like “Beach, Time, Age” to visualize the readers about the setting, characters and especially time of the age and how it changes over a period of time as a clock moves slowly. Also, in the chorus verse “Deeper Water” keeps on repeating it again and again. It is the used of repetition device because, “Deeper Water” words make the audience think about the lyrics and it is a catchy phrase for people to remember about particular story.

Overall, the two poems “My Country” and “Deeper Water” song are all related to the topic ‘Change.’ Without change there is no new experience and no new things that we can be explore or discuss about it. According to the three texts above, it talked about change in different perspectives and different stories, and how they wanted to stop it if possible. However, change is inescapable.
