to store more of what we eat. Eating dinner should take place a few hours before bedtime, so that the body has time to digest the food properly. Busy lifestyles and work schedules make it hard to eat dinner at an appropriate time. On those days if I must eat something I will just have the salad or soup instead of a full meal.

New Fitness Habits

Because I have not been exercising, there are many new fitness habits that will help me reach my goal weight. These changes will help in weight loss, strengthen my body, and strengthen my heart. Developing a stronger healthier body will help me feel better.

Cardio

Cardio workouts are the best for losing weight. I can use my elliptical and monitor my heart rate. Once I am in my target heart rate, I need to maintain that for at least 15 minutes. After a good cardio workout, I feel more energized. This will help me stay active throughout the day. Cardio workouts are also an excellent way to reduce the risk of heart disease.

Weight Lifting

I can add some minor weight lifting to my daily routine to help tone muscles. Repetition from a small hand weight should be sufficient for toning my muscles in my arms. This will help me feel better about my appearance and should also increase my strength in my arms.

Stretching

Stretching may not seem very helpful, but it is important to stretch our muscles to increase our flexibility. I always feel better after a nice stretch. Stretching may also help prevent pulling muscles while exercising.

Conclusion

By adding these nutrition and fitness habits, I will lose weight. This will help with my pregnancy as excess weight can cause complications in pregnancy and birth. These new habits should be fairly simple to incorporate into my daily routine.
