percentage rate where it passes on animal trails it fails on human trails. 30 HIV vaccines, 33 spinal cord drugs, and over 700 treatments for stroke have been developed in animals. None have worked in humans.("Animal Experiments: Overview.") It’s very obvious that animals are conscious to those who observe them. So they know what they are doing and know how they feel about themselves just like how human beings do. So why kill an animal over testing which they can reproduce in the same way we can or actually feel heart broken when one of their own dies? Animals care so much that if it’s friend or owner has died they would not leave their side no matter what because they show the love they had for them.
Third Contention:
In my Third Contention we should Respect all Living Things
Support:
“All of us must care for life, cherish life, with tenderness, warmth…to give life is to open our heart, and to care for life is to give oneself in tenderness and warmth for others, to have concern in my heart for others. Caring for life from the beginning to the end. What a simple thing, what a beautiful thing..So, go forth and don’t be discouraged. Care for life. It’s worth it.”("Top 13 Quotable Quotes by Pope Francis on Sanctity of Life"). All life is worth it even if that’s a human life or animal life it’s the most valuable thing on this earth. Animal testing take that precious life away from something that’s not 100% accurate. “People should learn to respect that other people and all animate living things are made of flesh, blood and bone, have the same senses sight, hearing, taste, touch and smell and all feel pain, cold, hunger, thirst and love.” (Worrall). If animals share all those things then why not test on human beings? If people think testing on humans is wrong because they value life so they turn to animals doesn’t that make them hypocrites? Because animals share the thing call life which is one of the precious things I said back in my first contention. Scientist will soon enough test on humans after animal trails but to be most accurate on results they could fully test on humans so we can progress through time.
Conclusion:
If people think that testing on a human beings is wrong because they value life so they switch to test animals doesn’t that make them hypocrites? Animals share the same value of life just like humans beings.
Possible Questions:
Do animals die on testing?
Do animals get harm from the testing?
and you said you value life right?
Possible Attacks:
There has been success in animal testings.
Review of Evidence:
Aspirin- Arguably the most successful drug ever, causes birth defects in mice and rats and results in such extensive blood abnormalities in cats that they can only take 20% of the human.
Floxin- This Antibiotic progressed through animal testing, only to cause seizures and psychosis when used by humans.
Birth control pills- These are known to cause life threatening blood clots in some women, yet scientists have still not been able to reproduce this finding in animals. In fact, dog testing predicted that the pill would decrease the likelihood of clotting.
