The final quality of animated movies that attract older audiences is the fact that the will typically bend reality into a different world based off of the creators imagination. These films typically set you up in a world similar to ours, and they can take place in the past, present, or future. Older audiences are attracted by the bending of reality because they put you in a world that you would want to live in or explore. Who would not want to explore the prehistoric era in The Croods or live in the futuristic world of Meet the Robinsons? These films make older audiences want to live in these worlds where reality is taken and spun completely around; moreover, these films attract adults because some of them are based around creatures that were only heard of in short stories and fairy tales. One examples are the dragons you will find all over the world of How to Train Your Dragon. A second example is the world of the movie Shrek. This movie is filled with characters that all older audiences had only heard of in fairy tales, like the Gingerbread Man, Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf, and Pinocchio.

While most animated movies are set up to attract children, they are also a huge attraction to older audiences. All older audiences, from teenagers to the elderly, are attracted to these films for many reasons. Generating fun, bringing the nostalgic feeling, throwing out great humor, playing addicting music, and the bending of reality are all reasons adult are attracted to animated masterpieces. While companies like Pixar and DreamWorks Animation are aiming to bring in children with their animated films, they are also bringing in older audiences for the films. It is easy to see why anyone could get addicted to these spectacular animated masterpieces.
