women should stay home and do domestic work as they were inferior to men. They believe that maybe because of religious reasons and because men are physically stronger, they did not believe men and women are the same and should have equal rights. Their idea of a woman was the opposite of a suffragette, as a suffragette is a annoyed and opinionated woman who protests for the right to vote and that’s not how a “lady” should act like. They also believe in male supremacy. They believe if women get the right to vote they would be the same as women. They want to keep their masculinity unharmed. They’re afraid of losing their status as the “superiors”.

This is a poster made by Anti Suffragettes and it clearly shows how they believe suffragettes aren’t eligible and “ladylike” enough to get married because they believe in equal rights.

This next poster is also made by Anti Suffragettes and it shows how if women get the right to vote they will become equal to males and the poster shows how the DAD is taking care of the children like the MOM is supposed to as tradition and gender roles. Males believe that their masculinity will be harmed if women have the right to vote. They will lose their status as the “superior kind” as only males (who were superior) got to vote.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, I believe the Suffragettes are right. I believe men and women are the same and should have equal rights. Women should have the right to vote because they contribute to the society much like men. They are capable of supporting themselves and their families and don’t need a male to do so. They deserve the right to vote and be treated equal to males. I also believe gender roles should not be given importance and should not be a factor. Males should stop thinking they are superior and there is a certain type of way to act “lady like”.
