Next, the Aztec creation stories of the ancient Mayans had their own creation stories to interpret human existence. The stories actually changed overtime and birth, death and rebirth were actually a significant belief to this civilization. In the Aztec stories the world is revived through the sacrifice of one of the gods this is called the birth of the new sun. The legends of the five suns commute that five different worlds have existed. The Aztec story like the Rig Veda also explains creation out of nothing but, what contradicts is that their dual god created itself. The creation of the world was from a sea monster called Cipactli so the whole world is from the parts of this monster. Like all the creation stories where humans relied upon god’s mercy, here Gods too needed humans despite destroying them four times, which many interpretations say is for the energy of human life to sustain gods. The Aztecs believe that humans have a blood debt to the creators. Sacrifice was of much significance because life could only begin with sacrifice. The Aztec also worshipped the gods through human sacrifice even children and people of foreign tribes. The purpose of Aztec rituals was to honor the gods through Nextlaoaliztli, "the giving of that which is right." This term referred to the stereotypical blood sacrifice as well as many other things. The Aztec people waited until they were acquainted with a specific god before asking for their guidance.

The existence of a divine spirit or god in most if not all of creation stories is never argued. The divine spirits in these stories are always the creators or related to the action that brought existence. The human life and earth in these stories have always had a significant role to the divines. The stories also have an event that changes the harmony drastically so as to compel god to take action or to resolve the problem. The difference in these creation stories is how the actions are taken. Creation stories are an important part of history because it helps understand the intellectual ability of humans from ancient times and the significant details they have about life at that time.
