the colonists were responsible to feed and house the troops. The Americans had enough of the one-sided Acts and laws so they decided to revolt and stand up against King George III.

Things had escalated quickly from being citizens and colonies of Great Britain to being an independent nation and American citizens. This did not go by happily with Great Britain and led to the beginning of the Revolutionary War. The British were not going to let the American colonists out that easily, and especially not without a fight. The fight was for freedom, with the Second Continental Congress as their official government. Before the Declaration of Independence, the Second Continental Congress was an American government but the British were still ruling over America, now that their independence was declared they were America’s government. With this many things had to change and be done independently by America, such as dealing with other countries, developing their way of money, providing their army troops, and much more. Before the British were taking care of all of this but now that America is an independent nation they had to do it on their own and get used to the changes. As some things changed others stayed the same, the American industries making their own products, their farms continuing to grow crops and other farm items. The Americans still believed that the governments in general and especially theirs has to protect their rights and serve their people. These were some things that changed and stayed the same for the independent nation.
