Elie Wiesel the author of Night wrote about how it is to lose faith in god, how he was lucky on surviving,, and how he lived through hell. We always question ourselves why me? but we don’t know why and then the irrelevant thing to do is start questioning god. Its in our human instinct to blame him for the bad things that happen to us. The holocaust was never his fault he never started this yeah he might have been watching the entire time but remember, you need to have a lot of faith in order for him to send a signal. We need to stop blaming him for mistakes that he did not cause. Hitler caused the Holocaust make him pay not god. Ellie must’ve not meant insulting god and start questioning his belief he was just doing this because of the situation that he was in.. While Ellie was at auschwitz he faced problems like being separated from his mother. “Men to the Left,Women to the right” when ellie heard those eight words his life was destroyed because from that point on he never got to see his mother ever again. Another problem that Ellie faced was having to choose to keep his father alive or for him to survive. His father grew sick with dysentery. When they were on the train heading to Buchenwald Ellie’s father died in his arms and Ellie feels like if it was his fault that his father died. “After my father’s death nothing could touch me anymore”. This shows that the camp changed him, he is a whole new person because he lived through his mother and father’s death. What he is basically saying is that he doesn’t care anymore, if anything happens to him he’d rather just die than live through this alone.

Although the Holocaust didn’t affect us or anybody around us, it affected people like Mel And Ellie. Mel had to live through many hurtful events like proving that the holocaust was real, and Ellie had to live alone for the rest of his life carrying the guilt that his father’s death was his fault. People like them the survivors of the holocaust after that happened were probably not able to cope with the conditions of the outside world. Separated from their families and not being able to know what to do. The holocaust should be an event that we should never forget. We Should never let people rewrite history, because in the future if something like this happens then we will know what to do in order to prevent this from happening.
