and did his work. The bell went for end of class and everyone rushed out, as quickly as they could to get to the canteen, before the line would become too long. With his head down, Raj walked quietly to the teacher’s desk.

Mr Sharma was marking some worksheets when he said, “Raj come here, do you know what I do if students don’t do their homework.”

“No Sir,” replied Raj.

“Well I might let them off the first time, but I don’t let off any more times after that. Instead I hit them so hard that they remember for the rest of their lives to do their homework.” Mr Sharma shouted

Mr Sharma stood up from his desk and stood in front of Raj. Mr Sharma lifted his arm and swung it as hard as he could. Bang! The sound of a hand hitting soft tender flesh.

Mr Sharma looked down and saw another staff member on the floor lying there knocked out. He looked up and saw that Raj was perfectly fine, not even a scratch on him. Then he realised that the staff member had walked in front of Raj, just when he was going to hit Raj and he had hit the staff member instead of Raj.

Raj ran down the corridor straight to his locker to get his IPhone. Raj straight away called the ambulance and the police and within 10 minutes they were there. The staff member was taken straight to the intensive care unit in the Apollo Hospital, the best and well renowned hospital in New Delhi. Mr Sharma was taken away by the Police and later that month he was charged for assault and causing grievous bodily harm. When the judge at the District Court was sentencing Mr Sharma he said, “Mr Sharma you have no regard for the new laws on hitting children, to show your control on them, and therefore you will serve 2 years in prison.”

Mr Sharma spent his time in prison reflecting on how he could become a better man. Mr Sharma thought and thought about it. He came up with many ideas, but he thought the idea of him not hitting anyone ever again was the best idea.
