to cloud a man’s judgement? The answer will always be yes it will always be the root of all evil consumes the weak it is also not for everyone. The story of kinto shows how wealth comes with a short period of glory but a long of grief.
“ A selfish or excessive desire for more than is needed or deserved , especially of money , wealth, food, or possessions “. To further explain greed is considered immoral, a violation of natural or divine law. For example “avarice” is one of the seven deadly sins in catholicism And according to buddhism, “craving” is a fundamental hindrance to enlightenment. If prominent religions of some countries look down on greed why shouldn’t you. Wealth also brings out jealousy and envy which can seem good and easy at first. The difference between envy and jealousy lies in that envy is what you feel for something or someone that you want to have and jealousy is felt when you fear losing someone or something that you already have while kinto felt jealousy, being scared to lose his pearl and lose his wealth. His village felt envy, wanting his pearl ransacking his home to find that pearl wanting what kinto had wanting the wealth that had came easy to kinto. Wealth is not rightfully earned will never have a beneficial outcome it will end in death and destruction just as it did in “ The Pearl “ in just how it is in the real world. No matter what religion you are or financial bring up I’m sure you can agree with this scripture found in the king james version of the Holy Bible “james 3:16 - For where envying and strife [is], there [is] confusion in every evil work “ Greed, envy, jealousy, and strife never end like you hope it does.
But these are all the inheritance of wealth even though not all wealth is bad you should stay mindful that the same thing that happened to kinto can happen to you in your time of need don’t be tempted by the allure of wealth because the grass is not always greener on the other side.
