In the end, Sammy did the right thing by leaving his stable job with A+P as he took a stand for what he believed in. He proved to himself not to be a “sheep” as he used such a term to describe the customers. Sammy wasn’t looking to settle for a dead-end job with no possibilities or growth. He wanted more, he wanted different. Although Sammy may have come to those conclusions in the wrong way, in the end, they lead him to greater possibilities. As Sammy mentions in the story “my family says it's sad but I don't think it's sad myself” shows his parents disappointment in him but he sees this as a long-awaited opportunity to do more with his life. The quote from the story "I know you don't," I said. "But I do." Sammy now, here at this moment suggests that those around him might not understand as a society can’t wrap their heads around being different. Sammy’s response indicates his competency of his final decision to quit his job.

Part 4: A Play – Sure Thing by David Ives

The bell acts as a do-over every time negative things are said as to ruin their chances at love. Betty and Bill get a chance to start over and rethink their responses until they manage to agree on going on a movie date. Perceiving the same situation from various perspectives and or viewpoints initiates for different responses. Overthinking a situation or response happens often as this play takes a role on different perspectives. On how a situation could have gone differently based on timing and personal state. Relating to the over occurring conversation of its and buts is something that transpires after a long day. My brain likes to replay moments that could have had a radically different outcome if only I had known then what I know now. The play is about two strangers meeting over and over until they got it right.
