Not only does is make a girl or boy feel bad about themselves but the feelings can escalate into depression, or emotional disorders, and even suicide. Media has caused the youth today to become more antisocial and hostile. The negative influences of media that are embedded into our minds is all the more reason to cutting precious social media and technological time in half in order to do something productive for yourself. This will overall make you happier and feel more like a person instead of a robot consumed by radio waves, wiring, and Terabytes.
I understand the counterargument of how this advancement can be beneficial and I completely agree to a certain extent. Educational shows are always streaming on television or on Netflix. Here teenagers and children can learn a lot from these programs. Sometimes this can be more useful and helpful to children who need the visuals and auditory teaching to learn certain things for their education. Also the upside to social networking is it gives teens and adults a platform to interact with friends in which you can keep connecting with more and more people. This is a positive way to use technology and can broaden your future for networking and education if used correctly.
Technology will keep advancing more than double its capacity every ten years according to Forbes magazine. I have no doubt that social media and technology will keep being a major part of our lives from here on out but it is crucial to understand the effects this creation has on many aspects of life. used your phone, get a picture of you sent around to the wrong people, have horrible feelings because of what has happened to you on the internet, get chubby from sitting around all day not
exercising to watch the Kardashians, or learn something very beneficial towards your future. Whatever the outcome, be mindful of how much of your own energy and capacity for independence your are risking with the continuous use of these inventions. Cut the time in half or cut it out completely and see how nice the weather is outside, and how many people you could meet instead of keeping your nose stuck to your phone screen all day.
