Stereotyping gender roles can cause conflict. Stereotyping gender roles can have a major impact by the way women are viewed. The Oxford Handbook of Lifelong Learning talks about how gender roles impact a woman not only with society but also with learning, earning , and advancing in a career. " It was concluded that gender-role stereotypes create impediments for girls and women worldwide." When having gender roles the conflict is serious. Girls are always told they need to get married, have kids. Girls are also told they need to stay home but they can have a job just as long as it doesn’t overpower her husbands job. But with today's society girls are standing against the "gender norms" and exceeding men in the work place and not getting married. Today girls are more independent and don't need a husband to survive. Strong girls are making a great change to the world of gender norms.

Trying to fit in with gender norms and not fitting in with gender norms are both fine. Whatever makes you the person you are and you are okay with it. You need to flaunt it and be awesome at it. People try way to hard to fit into something they are not. The girl in After Rosa Parks stands out the most to me because she doesn’t care about what other think about her or if people think she is awful for being divorced. She realizes that life happens and you just have to roll with it and be your self through the trials and tribulations.
