school, or a two year school the success in all of these institutions come out to be the same. The Gallup-Purdue Index conducted a survey among college graduates who went to a liberal arts college or top ranked colleges to show the pros of each. The survey states “The percentage of graduates who described themselves as thriving in all five of those areas varied little based on the kind of school they’d attended or the regard in which that school was conventionally held” (Bruni). The percentage of students that went to a top school and a liberal arts school and had engagement in their employment differed by a single percent. This study shows that whether you came from a private school or public and went to a top school or liberal arts school it does not matter because everyone will end up in the same place if they have the mindset to do so. I completely agree with this article’s point because I went from a private school to a liberal arts college and it doesn’t matter whether it’s a liberal arts school, I still need to put in a ton of effort in order to get the grades I would like. That goes if I went to a top ranked school, I would still need to work hard to get good grades. As for employment, yes I do believe if someone went to Harvard or Yale, they would get a job easier than someone who went to a more laid back school. With that being said, it is not about getting the best job and getting paid the best, its about doing something that makes you happy. I would like to be a teacher someday regardless of the pay, it is what makes me happy.
Education is such a privilege to have and I feel people take that every day for granted. There are children across the world that would love to go to school to get an education like students in America. The purpose of an education is not just about going to school and getting tests, quizzes, copying notes, papers and homework, but rather getting learning skills and life skills. It helps students get more intelligent but also learn about how to develop friendships and future relationships.
