The teacher started the class by giving a short review about their last lesson which is the calculation of the Potential Energy. The teacher told the students the she already checked their work yesterday and pointed out the students’ mistakes. The teacher then gave further explanations to be able to clear any confusions in the students’ minds.
After her explanation, she posted sample problems on the board that is written in a bond paper and the students need to answer it. I noticed that the students consumed a lot of time for just 3 simple problems. After the students have finished their work, they got dismissed.
10:45 – 11:45 English 8 Grade 8
As I enter the room, the cooperating teacher announced that there will be a reading assessment that will be conducted by the Cauayan District to all the public schools in Cauayan City on July 25. In connection to that, the teacher explained that they will have a reading drill. A student will adopt another students and will took turns to record the errors of each other as they read a short passage given to them by the the teacher. I was also instructed to assist her in facilitating the students. She told the students to raise their queries either to me or to her.
I help her in distributing the handouts to where the passage is written. As the students started, I also have a student to handle. I noticed that he is a good reader. The only problem is the use of punctuations. As I move to the next students, my resource teacher told me that she needs to go to the CR. I proceeded with my next student. Same problem; the use of punctuations.
It is almost time and I still have one student to assist. So I did my job. This student was a poor reader. Actually, he had the record for the most number of errors I jotted down among the three students that I handled. He is also the slowest reader.
In the end, I submitted my report to my resource teacher and told her my observations. After all the students are already finish, the cooperating teacher then dismissed the class.
