I met Simon on the night of my high school graduation, and he has been the greatest impact on my life ever since. He is the one that showed me there was more to myself than I even knew possible. Meeting him was as if a burden had been lifted from my shoulders. He had a charm to him, the charm that made it so easy to make me laugh. A charm that made me fall so quickly under his spell. He made me feel good about myself. He taught me so many things that have impacted me and changed the way I think and feel. He is the first person I truly fell in love with. I am so proud to say that it is from him that I have learned to love unconditionally. He taught me that love exceeds all physical boundaries between two people. He taught me how to be patient in my life and to wait for good things to come to me, to fight for things that I want, and to strive for all the goals I set for myself. Before I met him, I had always been afraid to let people in. I was extremely insecure with a terrible habit of letting people walk all over me. But he came into my life and made me feel so strong and so confident. He taught me to trust, how to forgive and how to stand up for myself. He has always been very supportive of me since the day we met, and he has truly taught me to be a better person in life.

He is the one who I presumed to be the love of my life and he is the only one who has continued to stick around. I never in a million years would have guessed that Simon would be the one to stay by my side, all the while being the most important and greatest impact in my life. He wasn’t someone I was supposed to fall in love with; in fact I wanted quite the complete opposite. I didn’t expect Simon, to be the one to say all the right things and make me feel all the feelings I felt. In such a short amount of time of knowing, studying, and understanding him, I managed to fall in love.

People think that a best friend, or the person you love is supposed to be your perfect fit, and that’s what everyone wants. But in reality, they are a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life. A true best friend/love is probably the most important person you’ll ever meet, because they tear down your walls and smack you awake. They come into your life just to reveal another layer of yourself to you. These are many reasons I believe having Simon come into my life is one of the greatest things I have experienced.
