If we have been entangled in whether being liked or not, we will never be the best; if everyone in the pursuit of excellence has the hesitation and stops, we can not change the imbalance between the leadership of men and women, and the change will not happen in the inequality between men and women. In order to achieve the great changes, “not-being-liked-by-others” is perhaps a “temporary” problem for this generation women leaders.

2. There is no perfect work - life balance, Struggling in-between is the real norm of the life

The most common mistake of an idealist is the pursuit of a state of perfect ideal of perfection, which cannot tolerate failures and mistakes. But there are too many times when we need to get along with imperfections and even mistakes. Work-life balance is one as well.

Sheryl in the book admits that she was under too much pressure to cry in front of her boss, admit that sometimes they have to hold back the guilt can not accompany the child, admit that when she and Dave can not refuse a dinner and had to give the child to the nanny Sister care, I suddenly realized that everyone will encounter such a moment, it is not as perfect as we imagine them to be. Since we cannot avoid this everyday imperfection, how should we deal with it?

We cannot decide how things will end up, but we can try to create all the necessary conditions for our own ideal state. The pursuit of balance, and not perfect coexistence is the perfect life we have to learn a lesson.

Also I will keep in mind that "Asking for input is not a sign of weakness but often the first step to finding a path forward." Be confident and courageous.

3. "Lean In" is important for women and, not so difficult

"One of the main reasons for the low percentage of women in senior positions is the lack of entrepreneurial ambition." I once, including now often feel not as smart as than others, it is derived from the nature of modesty, partly because of the hints of the social environment. A finding comes from a Hewlett Packard internal report, and has been quoted in Lean In too: Men apply for a job when they meet only 60% of the qualifications, but women apply only if they meet 100% of them. “Men are confident about their ability at 60%, but women don’t feel confident until they’ve checked off each item on the list.” The advice: women need to have more faith in themselves.

4 Gender equality needs more women leaders to initiate the changes

I think that when more women go to leadership positions, they will have a stronger understanding and empathy and to provide support to both female and male employees facing career-family conflicts with the "traditional" social attitudes of different choices.
