Monitoring and Control Process Group is next, it takes place parallel with the Execution Process Group. This process consists of processes used to observe a project during the Execution stage so that problems can be seen and fixed in a reasonable manner. The first is Monitoring and Controlling Project Work, the outputs include recommended corrective actions, preventive actions, defect repair, forecasts, and requested changes. The next is Integrated Change Control, some outputs are approved or reject change requests, update the Project Management Plan and Project Scope Statement, approve the corrective and preventive actions, and approve and validate defect repairs. Then you move onto the Scope Verification where you need to accept deliverables, requested changes, and recommended corrective actions. The Scope Control you need to update the Project Scope Statement and Scope baseline, update the WBS, and update organizational process assets and the Project Management Plan, again. In the Cost Control your output are performance measurements, forecast completion, recommend corrective actions, then update the cost estimate, cost baseline, organizational process assets, and the Project Management Plan. Moving onto the Performance Quality Control you do the quality control measurement, validate defect repair and deliverables, recommended corrective and preventive actions and defect repair, and then update the quality baseline, organizations process assets, and Project Management Plan. Now you have to Manage the Project Team where you requested changes, recommended corrective and preventive actions, as well as update the organizational process assets and Project Management Plan. Performance Reporting is where you need to do performance reports, forecasting, requested changes, recommended corrective actions, and update the organizational process assets. Then finally you have Managing Stakeholders where you resolved the issues, approved the change requests and corrective actions, and update the organizational process assets and Project Management Plan.

The last group is the Closing Process Group, where you processes are performed to finalize the activities across all the groups in order to close the project or phase. In the process you conduct a lessons learned where you get the team together and talk about what all happened. You should do these done when the lessons are fresh on the mind and need to be documented for future projects or phases. PMBOK is also has an easy guide to management steps, it helps the members of an organization by having a guide there to help them through the rough patches. Then it also provides documentation, with processes and methods that are documented every step of the way. PMI has many different certifications, eight of them to be exact, they are PMP, PgMP, PfMP, CAPM, PMI-PBA, PMI-ACP, PMI-RMP, and PMI-SP. PMP is Project Management Professional, it is the gold standard of certification and validates competence to perform in the role of a project manager, leading, directing a project and team. CAPM is Certified Associate in Project Management, which demonstrates the persons understanding of the fundamental knowledge, terminology and the process. PMI-SP is PMI Scheduling Professional recognizes demonstrated knowledge and advanced experience in a certain area. There are many advantages to having a Project Management certification one being increased credibility that shows you have taken the exams, met requirements, and shows the knowledge. There is also international recognition, PMI certifications are able to be seen and used all over the world. It can also help to boost the pay rate you can be getting no matter if you work for an organization or an independent project management consultant. If you have a certification you can have access to better projects and clients. Finally you have an increased confidence which can help in managing your project and in landing your next project management job.
