With comparison to other interpersonal or human behavior books, Brian Tracy has amazingly lay out in this book all the lessons and skills on how to create a great world for all leader and company. This book is an interesting educational and motivation book as the author illustrated many of his precious experiences and psychology method that lead us to improve our weaknesses in leadership.

Before I become Administrative and Diplomatic Officer, I had worked as a business coordinator in an IT company. The company had handed me a goal to double the company profit and develop new team to build up new customers. From that tough experience, I really understand and agreed with most of the Brian Tracy's ideas. That goal had encouraged me to build up relationship among employees by using many efforts to gain their trust. Initially, team work has gained success and the sales target was achieved 110% from normal quota. However, my boss tried to earn more profit by decreasing commission amount and decided to change incentive which made his salesman more difficult to hit their sales quotas. Many of my team members had express their feeling like losers and decided to join competitor company that are motivate them as winners.

From this experience, I totally agreed with Brian Tracy that positive motivation by understanding employees basic needs, by refer to one important skill- "Five Step to Win" which include setting clear goals by SMART model, concrete measures by Milestone Management, help person to have success experiences, raise people's self esteem by recognition their achievement and prepare tangible and intangible rewards to save the percent of the mistakes, the costs, and the lost time of other people involved.

Right people selection is important to increase the quality of employment. However, I personally does not fully agree with the content of the book in chapter 7 which stated that leader must look for smart people with the believe that slow leaner are not ideal for the job because they are not interested in continuous learning and won't success in long term period. Personally, we can't categorize people in intelligent or non-intelligent category because this is a subjective predictor for future performance. We must look from another SWAN formula that stress more on people attitude and behavior : work hard, be ambitious and be nice in hiring process.

CONCLUSION

Frankly, “Full Engagement!: Inspire, Motivate, And Bring Out The Best In Your People” now has become one of my all-time favorite books that motivate me to see more clearly in many aspects of the real cooperate life. We always come across person who like to argue or disagree with other to express own idea but at last hard to get agreement from others. In civil government bureaucracy working style, I realized that we must be tactful and diplomatic in discussion and negotiation. I must practice more praise to encourage behavior of engagement and team building.

Sincerely, this book was an eye-opener for me to change my mind set and decrease my fear to face those superior. I will slowly learn to accept the reality that the most important survival key point in my current working world is to build up a harmony relationship among subordinate and mentor. I believe that encouraging openness, honesty, and disagreement among staff will make them feel important and easily create winning feeling to increase their self-esteem and self-efficacy.

In future, I highly recommend , “Full Engagement!: Inspire, Motivate, And Bring Out The Best In Your People” as this book is full of practical wisdom guiding us in our life. Most topics in this book address the principles of motivating people including specific ideas for keeping employees to move forward with confident and manage to handle all challenges leading to the bridge of success. The real statement of life to be happy and humanistic highlight the points of Brian Tracy that relate to all profession in this world.
