Though I feel bad on my part to discuss about days when bad emotions take over me, I think it is important to learn about myself and recommend changes to me. In such times, I feel I am not myself. I feel this inside at my heart that this is not the way I should behave. But my frustration and negativity takes over my inner feeling. While interacting with people, I tend to look at the negative aspect of people and end up criticizing them more. At school, while working in teams I kind of start imposing my ideas. Also, the arguments which are meant to be healthy turn into fights. This hampers my mood and work adversely. Towards the end of the day, I feel devastated, broken and my life seems meaningless.

I think if I am not positive, I will badly impact the lives of people around me. I have realized when I have sudden outburst of negative feelings, I end up acting like a headless person, honestly!! I don’t evaluate things and simply be pre-judgmental. It happened with me many a times. I would blame others for my mistakes, or for every wrong thing done. I fee

To improve my P/N ratio, firstly I believe I should start meditation and give considerable time for self-reflection. It does help a lot. Also, I have pasted a poster on the wall near my bed. The poster has list of my ‘Vision’ and ‘Values’. This helps me keep track of what I want with my life. I want to get into this habit of looking at it at least 5 minutes each day so that when I feel low at trying times, I can gather myself back and keep moving. Also, I have decided when I am feeling too negative, I will look around at people who are not as fortunate as me and still are happy and positive. It helps to draw a lot of inspiration and positivity.

I believe that in our fast-moving society, the importance of meaningful positive emotions is often neglected. Everybody is moving towards a world where emotions are neglected so highly. I can say that as I have experienced it myself. At times when I have work, I tend to forget everything despite I lot of pre preparations about not doing so. For me, I have this thinking at the back of my mind that if I work hard, I will succeed, and that will give me my real happiness. I would able to purchase all the luxuries of life, and buy happiness as well. I believe to be happy genuinely one should focus on the vision and values set for one’s life. If we actually know what we want besides success and money, our mind triggers us to work in that direction. Though it sounds too difficult to implement, if we put it in practice in real, it will definitely help and lead us to live a life where we actually ‘LIVE’. Even at workplace, with our values in our mind, we can contribute more and work more productive. As said, “POSITIVITY IS CONTAGIOUS”, we can spread positivity, and encourage and motivate our peers and team.

The quote:

“So often we become so focused on the finish line that we fail to enjoy the journey.”

by Dieter Uhthoff sums up my entire experience and learning from this exercise.
