There is a good side and a bad side to globalization. I believe that most of the benefits of globalization outweigh the negatives. On the positive side, globalization has made it easier for businesses to communicate more efficiently. Also, it has helped businesses manage their supplies, inventories and distribution better. Companies in the United States can sell their products just as easily in countries across the world as they can right here in the United States. Another good thing about globalization is the fact that it has improved the flow of money between countries. This has really increased income and employment growth (Forbes 2011). Not only is globalization a good thing economically, but also socially and culturally. Some people argue that the world is becoming more homogenized and is losing diversity. Diversity is a very important thing but you see people from different cultures and backgrounds coming together more and more these days. Although some people may see this as a bad thing, I believe that it is a good thing. With people from all over the world coming together I believe that it will really help to decrease discrimination. One big reason why people discriminate against others is just lack of knowledge about their cultures or traditions. If we could all just come together and really take the time to learn about other cultures, I think that it could really help to reduce discrimination.

Globalization is an issue that will continue to play a huge role in the economy and culture of the world in the coming years. It definitely has pros and cons but I believe that the pros greatly outweigh the cons. Hopefully globalization helps to continue to boost our economy and help the economies of other countries all around the world. I believe that if we all just come together as “one” like globalization suggests, that we could improve the world and the lives of people everywhere.
