In the long-term, when the business become more successful and busy, more staffing will be required as and when appropriate according the future needs of the business. And the future goals of the business is to have the following staffing structure:

Managing director – Mr. Peter Grey

Duties: Assist with developing marketing and promotion strategies; provide management and monitoring of business; supervise staffs and oversee the operation, administration, financial management of the company; ensure compliance with legal obligations and regulations; develop strategic plans; provide customers support services.

Salary: Set at $60 070 per annum in the first year rising to $62 000 in the second year.

Employer superannuation contribution of 9.5% of regular income will be required for each employee.

Director’s Name / Marketing supervisor – Mr. Paul Jackson

Employee 1- Sales, marketing and administration, procurement and imports duties

Duties: Undertake sales and marketing activities; provide administration services; fulfil customers order and delivery; answer customer queries; provide quotes and pricing to potential customers; perform bookkeeping services; receive customers in show room. Perform procurement activities; monitor stock level; provide supply chain management services by dealing with suppliers to ensure no products shortages; clear imports; organise freight-in and freight-out deliveries; perform ad hoc tasks as required.

Qualifications required: Marketing or business degree is desirable, ability to provide good customer services, experience in sales or related activities is useful, ability to use computer and having some knowledge of business software applications is a requirement, must have forklift licence and experience.

Salary: $55 032 per annum

Employer superannuation contribution of 9.5% of regular income will be required for each employee.

In the event that the business does expand and reaching a stage where more full time staffs are needed, it is necessary to have a proper employment contract, detailed job descriptions and staff performance appraisal in order to be included in future business plan. The company will also implement a system of job rotation to ensure staff member can multi-task and can take on another staff duties if required. This enables the firm to adapt more easily to staff shortage or excessive workload in one area and for internal control purposes.

Training

Training will be provided to new staffs to ensure that they can perform their tasks competently, effectively, efficiently and safely. All new staff member will be inducted and required to have a thorough knowledge of our products in order to provide answer to customers’ queries regarding their use, benefits and product specifications.

Human resource management plays a most important role in starting a new entrepreneurial business venture. Human resource polices are the formal rules and guidelines that Solar-Glaze take into account while recruitment, training, evaluate and reward the employees of business. The company will maintain the HRM polices to retain and develop employees to maximise their efficiency within the organisation. These aspects comprises motivational mechanisms, orientation, induction, performance appraisal and training.

Occupational Health & Safety and Workers Compensation OH & S

Your business is required to comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act by providing adequate information, instruction, training and supervision to employees so that they can work in a way that is safe and without risks to their health and others such as customers visiting our store and showroom. Your business has legal obligations under work health and safety (WHS), worker’s compensation, and injury management laws to provide appropriate level of worker’s compensation insurance for our employees. According to the “Occupational Health and Safety Act 2000”, it is your responsibility as an employer to provide employees with:

- Develop and maintain safe method of work, and safe working atmosphere.

- Provide protective clothing and equipment and enforce them to use it.

- Remove inappropriate risk to safety.

- Encourage safe working procedures and responsiveness.

- Provide adequate information and time to time training

- Assess all risks and hazards before work start on new areas of operation.

- Provide employees and contractors with adequate facilities like, clean toilets, clean and hygienic place for eating, provide clean drinking water.

Eventually, it is the responsibility of everyone at workplace to ensure health and safety at workplace, as all the personnel are responsible for the work actions for other workers are accountable for:

- Controlling such circumstances or removing the risk to safety. There should need to inform manager encase, it is unable to control such practice and conditions.

- Identifying such circumstances that could injure workers, clients, public and environment.

- Making sure employees use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and trained them to use PPE correctly.

- Making sure Personal Protective Equipment is maintained and working properly

Solar-Glaze should demand a optimistic, proactive attitude and performance with respect to protect health, safety and environment by all the workers, irrespective to their position.
