3.2 Weakness

3.2.1 Led them to cannibalization

Samsung is facing a cannibalization problem as they are launching their product too frequent. For example, if a customer is willing to buy a Samsung note 5 but Samsung is coming out with Samsung note 6 soon. Customer that wanted to buy a note 5 will now go for note 6.

3.2.2 Using other parties of software system

Samsung is using Android open source operating system for all of its device. As Samsung do not have their own OS. It make customer decrease of confidence and to view Android as inferior product comparing with Apple’s IOS.

3.2. Korean culture focus more on hierarchy

As the culture of Korea is focusing more on hierarchy that could cause them facing prevention of creative ideas. The Corporate culture of Korea is also not flexible.

3.2.4 Consumer’s view of Apple product

From the past, people has view Apple has the top technology of electronic device. Consumer has mind-set that Apple products are always more advanced and more dependable than the product of Samsung.

3.3 Opportunities

3.3.1 Growing market of mobile device

Developing regions like Africa and India’s market of smartphone and tablets are growing bigger. There are increasing of demand from them although they are unfamiliar with the product in the past. Samsung has plan to launch customized product only for Indian market. That help to improve market share.

3.3.2 Further increasing investment in R&D

Samsung has break the record of spending in investment of R&D. Samsung has invests 14billion in the new technology which is almost three time as much as Apple. Samsung plans to focus on the investment of securing innovative as engine for the benefit of future growth. (Co, 2014)

3.3.3 Enhance Brand awareness

Samsung is the official Olympic partner of Indian for the London Olympic in 2012. Coming with benefit of launching the “Olympic Ratna Program”. It help to enhance Samsung brand awareness and increase of the sale.

3.3.4 Increasing of demand for LTE technology

Samsung could provide a stable LTE networks for the mobile service provider in many countries such as UK, Russia and Ireland. Samsung is also the leadership in LTE-TDD (Time Division Duplex) with the supplying the technology to Americas and Asia.

3.4 Treats

3.4.1 Large amount of competitors

Samsung has many strong competitor in the market and Apple is their main competitor following by google mobile and Nokia. The growing of China’s mobile device brand Huawei is growing stronger while Samsung is falling.

3.4.2 Large amount of Product, failure of one will affect the brand

As Samsung has a large amount of products, any failure or accident happen to the product will affect the other product. For an example if a Samsung’s Oven explode when using, the brand image will be affect as consumer confidence will decrease.

3.4.3 Many competitors has realize the importance of Advertising

As today many company has realize and starting to focus on advertising. Samsung market will be affected as lot of advertising of competitor will draw the attention of consumers that may cause of costumer turn over.

4.0 Conclusion

Samsung is one of the biggest company in the world that focuses on technology. Samsung has make moves to improve their company and make their product well-known in the world. Samsung could use their strength to improve in their weakness. With the opportunities, Samsung could grow stronger by using the right strategies. With pressure from the competitor that could offer a cheap and good quality product will be a big issue. Samsung has to come out with new strategies to increase their market and cutting down their cost.
